01Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and New Horizon Code Pty Ltd (ABN 61 634 659 804), trading as Syrup ("we", "us" or "our"). By accessing or using ui-design.studio (the "Service"), including creating an account, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to agree to these terms to access or use the Service. The Service is not intended or permitted for anyone under 18. If you are under 18, do not access or use it.
If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.
02What the Service does
The Service is a public inspiration gallery. The curator selects public posts liked on X that contain interface design images, videos or animated media, then presents those selections with creator attribution and a link to the source post. We may add categories, tags, excerpts and other editorial context.
Some images may be copied to our hosting provider for reliable display. Videos generally remain hosted by X. When enabled, the studio may also publish a credited announcement about a selection from its own X account.
You can browse without an account. Accounts let you save gallery references in personal boards, add notes, mark a top pick and favourites, and publish a version through an unlisted link. When the board owner allows it, people with an active link can respond without an account by adding a name, reacting to references and leaving comments, and the owner can reply. The Service is currently free; it does not offer team editing, image uploads, purchases or paid subscriptions.
03Your account and sign-in methods
You can register with an email address and password or sign in through Figma or X using the options available on the sign-in page. Use only an email address and provider accounts you control. Supply accurate account information, complete requested verification, and keep your sign-in and recovery details secure and up to date.
Protect your password and confirmation or recovery links, and do not share your account credentials. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password or secure the relevant provider account, use the available sign-out controls, and contact us. We may require verification or a recent sign-in before changing account access or deleting an account.
Linking or disconnecting a sign-in method changes how you access the same Service account. Keep a usable sign-in method connected. Your use of Figma or X remains subject to that provider's terms and account policies; losing access to a provider may affect your ability to sign in here.
Creating an account or signing in through a provider does not claim a featured designer's page, establish ownership of gallery content, or give you access to the studio's curation or publishing account. Figma and X sign-in are account-access features; they do not authorise us to import your design files or publish posts on your behalf.
04Your boards and notes
Board titles, descriptions, notes, highlights and replies you submit, and the name, reactions and comments you submit when responding to a shared board, are "Your Content". As between you and us, you retain the rights you hold in Your Content. You must have permission to submit it and, if you choose to share it, to disclose it to recipients. Do not include passwords, access tokens, unlawful material or information you are not permitted to disclose. Check any obligations you owe to clients, employers or other people before adding their information.
You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy and display Your Content only as needed to provide and protect the Service and carry out your instructions, including displaying the version you choose to share and displaying your responses to the board owner and to other people with the link. Our service providers may process it for those purposes. This permission does not let us sell Your Content or use it in advertising, and does not transfer ownership to us.
The licence applies only to rights you can lawfully grant. Saving a gallery reference does not make the referenced design Your Content or grant additional rights in it. After deletion, our permission continues only for retained copies described in the Privacy Policy or required by law, without continuing to display deleted boards through the Service.
Boards organise references; they are not a permanent archive of the source designs. A reference may become unavailable when its source changes, a creator requests removal or we remove it under our curation and takedown policies. This can affect both private boards and already-published versions. Keep a separate copy of your own notes if you need one.
06Content and intellectual property
Designers, authors and other rights holders retain their rights in the posts, images, videos, names, marks and other material featured through the Service ("Featured Content"). Featuring, crediting or linking to a work does not transfer its ownership to us and does not imply that its creator endorses the Service.
We do not grant you a licence to reproduce, publish, adapt, sell, train a model on, or otherwise exploit Featured Content. If you want to use a featured work beyond viewing it or sharing a link to its page, contact the relevant rights holder and review the terms that apply at the original source.
We or our licensors own the Service's original interface, branding, curation, written copy and software, excluding Your Content, Featured Content and third-party marks. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access the Service for lawful personal or project reference use, including sharing boards as described above. We may restrict or end that access only as described in section 11.
Figma, X, Twitter and related names and logos are marks of their respective owners. The Service is not sponsored by or endorsed by those providers.
07Permitted use
You may:
- browse the gallery and use it as visual inspiration;
- share links to gallery pages or original source posts;
- organise references and your own notes in boards, share a published board for project reference, and respond to a board shared with you;
- use the public RSS feed in an ordinary feed reader; and
- use the Service in another way that we approve in writing.
These permissions apply only to the Service itself. They do not override rights or restrictions attached to Featured Content.
08Prohibited use
You must not:
- use the Service or Featured Content unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person's rights;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, robots instructions or other technical protections;
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically collect the Service or Featured Content, except for ordinary search indexing that follows our robots instructions or with our written permission;
- use the Service as a source dataset for commercial resale, profiling, facial recognition, surveillance or machine-learning training;
- probe, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its providers;
- introduce malware or attempt unauthorised access to systems, data or credentials;
- impersonate another person, use a sign-in method you do not control, or try to access or alter another person's private boards;
- use boards, share links or board responses for harassment, fraud, spam or disclosure of information in breach of another person's rights, or flood a shared board with responses;
- remove or misrepresent attribution, ownership or source information; or
- suggest that you, your product or your service is endorsed by us or by a featured creator when that is not true.
09Editorial curation and AI-assisted tags
Selection and organisation of the gallery are editorial decisions. Tags may be generated or assisted by an OpenAI model and then applied through our classification workflow. They can be incomplete, subjective or wrong. A tag, category or description is not a statement by the featured creator and does not indicate their endorsement.
The classifier is used for gallery organisation, not to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on visitors or featured creators. We may change or remove selections and tags at any time.
10Third-party services and links
The Service depends on and links to third-party services, including Figma, X, Vercel, Supabase, Upstash and OpenAI. Supabase provides account authentication, and Figma and X provide optional sign-in methods. Media may be delivered directly from X or Vercel when you load a page. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we do not control their content, availability or conduct.
A link is provided for attribution and convenience. It is not a warranty, recommendation or endorsement of the linked site, product or person.
11Availability, suspension and account deletion
The Service is provided free of charge. We may change or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for legal, security, provider, cost or operational reasons. We do not promise that every selection, feature or source link will remain available. For a planned change that materially reduces account or board functionality, we will give reasonable advance notice and, where practicable, an opportunity to copy your own notes before access ends.
We may restrict content, suspend access or close an account where reasonably necessary to address a material or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful activity, a credible security threat or a legal requirement. Our response will be proportionate to the circumstances. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before taking action. We may act immediately where delay would create a risk or the law requires it, and provide notice afterward where lawful and practicable. You can contact us to ask for a review.
You may stop using the Service or delete your account through the account settings at any time, without a cancellation fee. Account deletion removes your boards, their published versions and the responses on them from the Service; it does not remove unrelated gallery posts about you or another creator. Use the Copyright & Takedown Policy for source-content concerns. Deletion and retention of personal information are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Legal and contact pages remain available separately from ordinary gallery rate limits where technically possible. Suspension, closure or deletion does not take away rights or remedies that have already arisen or cannot lawfully be excluded.
12Disclaimers and consumer rights
The Service and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Service is uninterrupted, error-free, secure, complete, current, suitable for a particular purpose, or that Featured Content is accurate, authorised for your intended use or free of third-party claims.
The Service is for general inspiration and information. It is not legal, business, accessibility, security or professional design advice.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a guarantee applies, these terms operate only to the extent the law permits.
13Limitation of liability
Subject to your non-excludable rights, and only to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms. This does not exclude responsibility for foreseeable loss to the extent caused by our breach of these terms, failure to exercise due care and skill, or unlawful conduct.
Where our liability cannot be excluded but may lawfully be limited, it is limited to the remedy required by applicable law or, where permitted and fair and reasonable, resupplying the affected service or paying the reasonable cost of having it resupplied.
This section does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limitation is prohibited.
14Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we submit to the courts of Queensland and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, except where a mandatory law gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers or law. The date at the top shows when they last changed. We will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially affect account holders' rights, through the Service or available account contact details, and explain when they take effect. Urgent changes required by law or to address a security risk may take effect sooner, with notice as soon as reasonably practicable.
Changes apply prospectively and do not remove rights that have already arisen. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using the Service and delete your account without a cancellation fee before it takes effect. We will obtain additional agreement where the law requires it.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be read down or severed to the minimum extent necessary without affecting the remaining provisions. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.
